'82~'85 Seibu Lions

I will tell you the Lions of golden age 1. Tatsuro Hirooka became the manager of Seibu Lions in 1982. It was the start of Lions' golden age. The main slugger was Steven Robert "Steve" Ontiveros. He recorded the AVG .307, HR 11, RBI 46, and Hits 129. The title holder of 1982's Lions Player was Hirohisa Matsunuma. The main pitchers were Masayuki Matsunuma and Osamu Higashio. The title was K-king. Seibu Lions became Pacific League champions and Nippon Series Champions in this year. In the next year 1983 Lions achieved V2. The main sluggers were Steven Robert "Steve" Ontiveros, Hiromichi Ishige, Koichi Tabuchi and Terry Bert land Whitfield. The year's title holders were Osamu Higashio, Shigekazu Mori and Naoki Takahashi. Especially, Higashio became Most Valuable Player of Pacific League. And Mori also became the main closer of Lions. However, Hirooka quit the manager in 1985 because Lions was defeated by Hanshin Tigers to which Randy William Bass, Masayuki Kakefu, and Okada Akinobu belonged although Lions became the Pacific League Champions. Still, there was the pitcher who amazes Nippon Professional Baseball. His name is Taigen Kaku. He came to Japan from Chinese Thaipei. He played as a super pitcher still 1996. The main sluggers were Koji Akiyama and Steve. The main pitchers were Kaku, Hirohisa, Higashio, Hisanobu Watanabe, and Kimiyasu Kudoh. Kudoh got the title of the most valuable ERA. Still, there was the pitcher who amazes Nippon Professional Baseball. His name is Taigen Kaku. He came to Japan from Chinese Taipei. He played as a super pitcher still 1996. The main sluggers were Koji Akiyama and Steve. Especially, Akiyama recorded 40HR. The main pitchers were Kaku, Hirohisa, Higashio, Hisanobu Watanabe, and Kimiyasu Kudoh. Kudoh got the title of the most valuable ERA. Lions achieved 3 times the Pacific League Champions, 4 times A-class, and twice Nippon Series Champions.
