My Treasures

I will tell you my treasures. First treasure is Kumamoto City. I have some reasons.

I think that it is much easier to live in than Osaka and other cities in Japan.

There are many stores, arcades, foods, and spots. For example, there is Tsuruya Department Store, Daiei, Kenmin Department Store, and PARCO. Kumamoto City also has four arcades. One is Shimotori Arcade which is the most famous one in Central and Southern Kyusyu. Another is Kamitori Arcade which is near Hitsuyukan Senior High School and Kumamoto Central Senior High School. They are major arcades. The others are small arcades. SUNROAD is the smallest arcade of the three. It is near Karashima Park and Kenmin Department Store. However, there is smaller arcade than SUNROAD in Kumamoto City. The name is PIACRES. There is in Kengun Town. PIACRES has many small shops. Because it is nearby Kumamoto Daini Senior High School, its students often go there. Do you know the famous foods in Kumamoto? For example, Korean Candy, Natto, Basashi, and Tai Pin Yeng are pretty famous, so why don’t you try?

Kumamoto City has many sister city. For example, Heidelberg (Germany), San Antonio (USA), and Guilin (China) are sister cities, so Chinese and Korean usually visit here.

Next, I will tell you my second treasure. It is Tenjin which is called the core of Kyusyu and Fukuoka. For example, there are IMS, Fukuoka Mitsukoshi, Daimaru, PARCO, VIVRE, and Daiei SHOPPERS Fukuoka. However, Tenjin is not what it used to be because JR Hakata City Building opened this March. Hakata City Building has 229 shops. For example, there are Hakata Hankyu Department Store, Ming, and City Dining. Because of it, Daiei SHOPPERS Fukuoka has already decided to be closed on July 10^{th 2011}. I was pretty sad because I have wanted to go there and it has been loved as a symbol of Fukuoka since 1971. Although I want to visit Daiei SHOPPERS Fukuoka once, I cannot. The reason why is that I have much homework to do. If you are free in this Golden Week, why don’t you go there? That’s because this is the first and last chance for you. See you my favorite spot. I remember it forever even if I die.

My Favorite Place in Kumamoto City

I 'll tell you my favorite place in Kumamoto City. It is You Me Town SANPIAN. I have some reasons.

First of all is that the foods prices are pretty cheap. It seems to be the cheapest supermarket in this city. According to the people, The prices are as cheap as discount stores. I go there three times a week. I think that no other store is cheaper than You Me Town SANPIAN.

Next reason is that foods freshness is high although the freshness is not No.1. Without good freshness, quality, and cheapness, it would be closed.

The final reason is that I can see many sports cars. For example, there are RX-7, Lancer Evolution and S2000 etc... On Every Friday, they gather in SANPIAN. I'm happy that there is You Me Town nearby Kumamoto IC.        

I'm planning to go there because Cheap Tuesday is held tomorrow. If you have a chance to visit it, why don't you do so?

The place I like in Kurume City and Saga City

I will tell you the place I like in Kurume City. First of all, the place I will tell you is Kurume's Daiei Gourmet City (DGC).It is a kind of supermarkets. If I have a chance to visit it, I want to do so because I have never gone there and because Kurume's DGC is  the nearest supermarket by Saga of all Daiei. It is pretty nearby Kurume City Office and Kurume Station, so the people from other prefecture or other city can go to DGC. What a convenient it is!!

Next, I wii tell you another place. It is AEON Saga Yamato.  It is pretty famous. It used to be the strongest supermarket in Saga City. However, present No.1 is You Me Town Saga (You Me Saga). Although the former is nearby the expressway,the latter is the largest shopping center, so not only the local people but Fukuoka's people also visit YouMe Saga. I want many more people to know Aeon Saga Yamato and come there. I want it not to be closed because I have visited it  since I was grade 5.

Hakata and Tenjin

Today I visited Hakata City Building. AM6:26 In Kumamoto Station, I took the first express train which is bounded for Hakata Station. AM7:17 I arrived at Hakata Station.

One hour later, I went to Ming which has many gift shops although I did not buy anything there. Two hours later, I ate special Tendon in Hisago. The taste was pretty delicious. After that, I planned to go to Tenjin. However, I didn’t so. The reason why that was I thought that Tenjin was not used to be and it was less interesting than Hakata.

I will tell you the sad news. Daiei Tenjin Shoppers is to be closed in this July. I wanted to go there because I have never been to Shoppers and it is the Tenjin’s symbol.

The delicious foods in my favorite city.

I’ll talk about my favorite city in the U.S. It is New York City. The reason why that is there are many delicious foods. For example, there are Italian, French, German, Spanish, and American.

First of all, I'll tell you the American foods. Many people say "American foods are unhealthy." I think so too. They also say "American foods are too oily." I don't like so much.

Next, I'll tell you the German foods. I like latter than former. However, German foods also have high calories. Don't you think so too?  What German foods do you like the best? Although it is my opinion, your favorite foods are sausages or hamburger steaks.

 

Thirdly, I'll tell you the French foods. I think French is healthier than any other one in European and American. French's gourmet and manners are much stricter than any other country.

Then, I’ll tell you the Italian foods. I think Italian is less healthier than French because Italian people always eat pasta and pizza. I want them to be careful for their health.

Finally, I’ll tell you the Spanish foods. In my opinion, Spanish is spicier than any other Europa country. It is also drier than any other one. For example, tortilla and paella are too dry to eat them, so you had better eat them.

A lettter to the host family

My name is Yuya. I live alone in Kumamoto City. I was born in March. I’m from Saga, Japan. My favorite food is beef steak. The food I don’t is selfish. My hobby is cycling. I go to the arcade by bicycle every week. It is healthy for me to cycle.

By the way, I’m looking forward to staying with you for six weeks this summer. I want you to answer six questions.

①    When did you get married to your wife?

②    What do you do?

③    What foods do you like the best?

④    Which city do you want to visit more, Kumamoto or Fukuoka?

⑤    What do you think of Germany?

⑥    If you had one million dollars, what would you do?

I want to visit San Francisco because there is such a great Chinatown there.

What do you think of it?

I also feel like going to California in order to eat the sushi which is called California Roll. I think it is much more delicious than any other junk food in the U.S. Have you ever eaten California Roll? If I have a chance to eat it, I will go to California. If you have never eaten California Roll, why don’t you try eating it with me?

By the way, do you prefer sweet things to spicy things? I like the latter better than the former, although I hate alcoholic drinks.

Especially, I love pibimpap which is one of the most delicious Korean dishes. I’ll tell you how to make it. First of all, please prepare rice in a bowl. Next, put grilled beef and vegetables with Japanese dressing on it. Finally, you have only to beat them thoroughly.

It is easy to make!! If you have a chance to make pibimpap, please make it.

I also like Tom yam Kung which is one of the local specialties in Thailand. However, it also tastes great, so I like it very much. Tom yam means soup which tastes sour and spicy, and Kung means shrimp. Still, it’s a little hard for me to cook Tom yam Kung, so I cannot tell you how to cook it. If you want to eat it, please do so at once.
